Fourth Of July Activities
Plenty of activities are planned in the area for the Fourth of July. In Hood River, events begin with the Kollas/Cramner Memorial Run and Walk from Mid-Valley Elementary School in Odell to Hood River’s Jackson Park. Registration is at 7 a.m. with walkers leaving at 8 a.m. and runners at 9 a.m. The Lions Club parade will go from Pacific down 12th Street to May Street and then west to Jackson Park at 10 a.m., with the motto “Hood River Together” and Hood River police and sheriff’s departments serving as grand marshals, followed by events in Jackson Park at noon. The Eyeopeners Lions Club will hold its fireworks display in the Port of Hood River area at 10 p.m. In The Dalles, Point Man Ministries will celebrate “Fourth of July in the Park” with free hot dogs and music by Outside the Wire from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the covered picnic shelter at Sorosis Park July 4. All are welcome. The Fort Dalles Fourth fireworks show also begins at 10 p.m. at Lewis and Clark Festival Park. There will be a parade through downtown White Salmon at 1 p.m., followed by a picnic and games in Rheingarten Park at 2 p.m. And Mill A’s 19th annual Independence Day parade will take place in the morning at 10:30 with registration and lineup at 9 a.m. at Jessup Road and Cook-Underwood Road. There will be a picnic at Mill A School following the parade and 11:30 a.m. flag ceremony.
